IBERIANS AND CELTS

The IBERIAN PENINSULA was the home of two main cultures along the METAL AGES: The Iberians, in the South-East and the Celts (pronounced kelts) in the North-West, with an area in the centre where both cultures mixed. Watch the video!
In La Rioja there was a mixture of the Iberian and Celt cultures. We house one of the most important and well preserved Celt-Iberian towns: CONTREBIA LEUKADE, near Aguilar de Río Alhama. The warriors of Contrebia Leukade fought the Roman troops lead by general Sertorius in the year 76 B.C.
They lost the battle, but hey, that's the prize of romanization! 😁😁😁😁 Have a look!
