Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar was a legendary figure of the Spanish History who lived in the 11th century A.D. He was born in Burgos and died in Valencia in 1099. Nowadays he is considered a symbol of the Reconquista and a defender of the Christian Kingdoms. However, he was most probably a mercenary, who was at the service of both Christian and Muslim kings. He conquered Valencia and governed his own land for years.
This film is not true to his real story, but you will learn some interesting facts about the Middle Ages and have a good time. Enjoy it!
